Spiritual Mentoring Do you feel at your core a need to connect with a "Higher Power"? Do you have a hunger for the "Essence", yet know not where to go to get those hunger pangs met? Perhaps Spiritual Mentoring can help you! Spiritual Mentoring can make no claims regarding timelines or success rates. It is as important to understand what Spiritual Mentoring is not, as it is to understand what Spiritual Mentoring is. Spiritual Mentoring is not about religion, it hasn't a thing to do with church, and it is not Christian, not Jewish, not Buddhist, not Baha'i, not Muslim, not Hindu, not Shinto… Spiritual Mentoring is discerning, provides gentle direction, an introduction to the art of allowing, acknowledgement of multiple and various paths and always, with kindness and great respect, assisting the mentored to remember who they are. "I believe that everyone needs a mentor." --Harry Bartholomew We've all had mentors in our lives; actually we've probably had many of them. They may not have been recognized as being such, but we've learned from each of them, and probably in many different areas. Some may have been our teachers in a particular discipline; librarians, coaches, business people, even bosses. We may have mentored others ourselves. If we are still alive and we are still growing (perhaps spiritually) we may need and/or desire a good mentor. Where Can Spiritual Mentoring Lead Me? The following may be most helpful…please read carefully…it may provide some answers: "Our deepest fear is not that we are powerful beyond imagination. It is our light more than our darkness which scares us. We ask ourselves - who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented, and fabulous. But, honestly, who are we not to be so? You are a child of God; small games do not work in this world. For those around us to feel peace, it is not example to make ourselves small. We were born to express the glory of God that lives in us. It is not in some of us; it is in all of us. While we allow our light to shine, we unconsciously give permission for others to do the same. When we liberate ourselves from our own fears, simply our presence may liberate others." --Marianne Williamson in Return to Love: Reflections on a Course in Miracles "You must embark on the path to find out that the path begins and ends…" --Neale Donald Walsch in Home with God In a Life That Never Ends Please don't be "put off by the mention of the word God. If the word God bothers or scares us, let's insert something else, even if only temporarily. Please do not let choice of labels, nor our background, cultural or family traditions deter us from our path or our destination.
